Discover LithoNutri®, a mineral solution developed from Lithothamnium for formulations intended for laying hens. A mineral matrix of marine origin naturally rich in calcium, magnesium, and other minerals for premixes, concentrates, supplements, and feeds.
Mineral Nutrition for Laying Hens
The quality of a formulation begins with the quality of the ingredients that compose it. LithoNutri® is Oceana’s mineral solution developed from Lithothamnium, a biogenic mineral of marine origin that combines consistent composition, high bioavailability, and rigorous quality control to meet the demands of laying hen nutrition.
Developed for applications in premixes, concentrates, mineral supplements, and feeds, LithoNutri® integrates a mineral matrix naturally rich in calcium, magnesium, and other minerals, contributing to nutritional formulations that prioritize reliability, efficiency, and zootechnical performance.
Mineral nutrition for laying hens
In egg production, the quality of the mineral source directly influences productive performance, feed conversion, egg weight, internal quality, and shell strength.
Produced from Lithothamnium, LithoNutri® offers a biogenic mineral matrix of marine origin naturally rich in calcium, magnesium, and other minerals. Its mineral structure and consistent composition make the solution suitable for formulations that require quality, standardization, and technical safety.
Contributions of the mineral matrix to laying programs.
Eggshell Quality
Calcium availability is one of the relevant factors for shell formation and strength. LithoNutri® provides a mineral matrix of marine origin naturally rich in calcium, contributing to nutritional programs focused on egg production.
Nutritional Programs for High Production
Its consistent composition and high bioavailability allow applications in formulations developed for laying hens subjected to high production levels.
Mineral Quality of the Formulation
The combination of calcium, magnesium, and other minerals naturally present in the biogenic matrix contributes to more consistent nutritional formulations.
Improved Internal Quality
Contributes to albumen height and Haugh Unit.
Lower Percentage of Cracked Eggs
Helps reduce productive and commercial losses.
Evidence Under Experimental Conditions
In a study conducted by the University of São Paulo (USP), Pirassununga Campus, the inclusion of LithoNutri® in diets for Bovans White hens during the period from 22 to 30 weeks of age was evaluated.
The results obtained demonstrated improvements in zootechnical indicators evaluated when compared to the treatment without inclusion of LithoNutri®, reinforcing the application potential of the mineral matrix of marine origin in nutrition programs for laying hens.
Observed Results
Feed conversion per dozen eggs: 2.52% better. Feed conversion per egg mass: 6.13% better. Average egg weight: 3.71% greater. Albumen height: 2.70% better. Haugh Unit: 2.98% better.
Field Evaluations in Laying Hens
Studies and evaluations conducted under commercial conditions demonstrate the application potential of LithoNutri® in nutritional programs for laying hens. The observed results reinforce the contribution of a mineral matrix of marine origin with consistent composition and high bioavailability to formulations intended for egg production.
Evaluation in Commercial Layers
In an evaluation conducted with commercial layers, the inclusion of 1.5% LithoNutri® in the diet resulted in:
- 1.64% increase in egg production;
- 22% reduction in the percentage of cracked eggs.
- Evaluation in Commercial Farms in Southeastern Brazil
In another survey conducted in commercial production systems in Southeastern Brazil, the following were observed:
- reduction in the percentage of cracked eggs;
- increase in average egg weight;
- improvement in feed conversion per kilogram of eggs produced.
These results demonstrate the application potential of LithoNutri® as a mineral ingredient in nutritional programs intended for laying hens, always considering the management conditions, formulation, and production system adopted.
